Richard Mosse, a 37 years old Irish documentary photographer, is best known for his colour infrared film photographs about war in Eastern Congo (The Enclave – 2013). He won the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize in 2014 and is a nominee member of the worldwide-known photographic agency Magnum Photos.
For Incoming, his immersive exhibition and multi-channel video at Barbican Centre, Richard Mosse collaborated with the composer Ben Frost and the cinematographer Trevor Tweeten. He has been using a export controlled camera, a camera initially used for war, to create artwork about refugees from the Aegean Sea, the coast of Libya, Syria, Sahara, the Persian Gulf, and other locations.
